POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Education: Graduate from a School of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Certification: Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • Experience:
    • Must have at least 24 months of experience, in the last 36 months, with assessing and providing evidence-based individual counseling to patients within a mental health or health care facility.
    • Must have at least 24 months of direct hands-on experience in the last 36 months with computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and use of an automated medical record system.
    • Prefer those with recent experience (within the past three years) providing integrated behavioral health services within a primary care setting.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all Healthcare Workers (HCWs) providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen
  • HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services.

HOURS:

This position operates on a hybrid model, with three days working remotely and two days on-site. Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700 and 1700 hours. 

DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides brief, cognitive/behavioral interventions in primary care under the Air Force consultation model (services mimic the pace of primary care)
  • May provide classes (i.e. stress management, sleep enhancement, chronic pain)
  • May participate in group medical appointments 
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders as required
  • Participate in military-specific training (e.g. use of the Air Force Guide for Suicide Risk Assessment, Management, and Treatment and pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress)
  • Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other government agencies for services
  • Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures including acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology
  • Participate in professional peer review case conferences, research studies, or other organizations required 

Compensation: (DOE) 

$40- $43.66 (Hourly)

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
